What is a Business Portfolio?
A Business Portfolio is the comprehensive digital profile of your company. It stores your Legal Business Name, Company Registration Number (UEN), and Tax Registration Number.
It is also the control room for your financial configurations. Here, you define your Sales Tax settings (such as GST or VAT) and your Bank Statement Descriptor.
Why is Business Portfolio is important?
You must configure this correctly for three main reasons:
- Automated Tax Compliance: Once you enable and set your tax rate here (e.g., 9% GST) , the system will automatically apply these charges to orders during checkout. You do not need to calculate tax manually for every sale.
- Professional Invoicing: The "Business Name" and "Legal Business Name" you enter here are exactly what will appear on your official payment statements, invoices, and receipts given to customers.
- Payment Clarity: The "Bank Statement Descriptor" field allows you to control what customers see on their credit card or bank statements. Keeping this clear (within 10 characters) prevents customers from disputing charges because they didn't recognize your company name.
